Setting up Therefore™ for Microsoft Teams

Therefore™ supports integration with Microsoft Teams. Using this integration, workflow tasks can be processed in Teams without opening a Therefore™ client.

Installing the Therefore™ app

This tutorial shows how to install the Therefore™ for Microsoft Teams.

1. Open the Microsoft Teams app. Click the three dots icon (…) in the menu on the left side. A tooltip labeled 'View more apps' will be displayed.

2. Type 'Therefore' into the search bar and click on the Therefore™ app.

3. This opens a pop-up containing information on the app. To proceed with the installation, click 'Add'.

4. This adds the Therefore™ app to Microsoft Teams. In the Microsoft Teams app, a confirmation message is displayed. To proceed, connect to a Therefore™ tenant.

Connecting to a Therefore™ Tenant

To interact with Therefore™ workflows in Microsoft Teams it is necessary to connect to a Therefore™ tenant in the app. Read this tutorial to find out how.

After installing Therefore™ for Microsoft Teams, a chat for communicating with the Therefore™ app is created in Microsoft Teams. The chat looks the same as a chat with a colleague but the app will only react to certain prompts. Click on 'View Prompts' in the bottom right corner of the chat to view a list of available prompts.

1. Send the command 'Connect' to open the Therefore™ Connection dialog. In the dialog, click the option 'Therefore™ Online'. The dialog 'Connect to Therefore™ Online' will open.

2. Enter your Therefore™ Online tenant name in the 'Connect to Therefore™ Online' dialog. The Therefore™ Online tenant name is the first part of its connection URL: if your URL is https://moyawarefinance.thereforeonline.com, the tenant name is 'moyawarefinance'.

3. Click 'Authorize' to authenticate yourself. Clicking 'Authorize' opens the opens the browser and guides you to an OAuth log-in screen.

4. Enter your Therefore™ credentials and click 'Sign In'. Alternatively, you can sign in with your Microsoft Entra ID credentials.

5. You will be asked to grant the app the necessary permissions. Click 'Grant' to proceed or click 'Sign in as a different user' to use different credentials.

6. A confirmation message will be displayed in Microsoft Teams.

The authentication process can be restarted by entering 'ct' or 'connect' in the chat window. This allows you to connect to a different Therefore™ Online tenant, or to fix connection issues. To see a list of all available commands, either click 'View Prompts' or type help into the chat window.
