Ad-hoc Tasks
It is possible to create ad-hoc tasks for specific documents in Therefore™. For example, this could be a task that requires a colleague to approve a draft document.
Sending a Therefore™ Task to another user
-
Select a document from the hit-list in the Therefore™ Navigator, Therefore™ Case Manager or Therefore™ Viewer. Under the Home tab in the ribbon menu, click 'New Task'.
-
In the New Task dialog, specify a descriptive Subject for the task and then assign it to one or more users. A task to can be assigned to the current user by leaving the subject line blank.
-
Specify a Start and Due Date. Choose from one of the predefined Task Modes which will determine the choices that the recipient has when processing the task.
By default, users are notified by e-mail that a task has been assigned to them, and they can open the task directly from the e-mail. If no e-mail notification is required, un-check the box. The same applies for e-mails notifying the user assigning the task when a task is updated.
-
Tasks can be edited at any time in the Therefore™ Navigator. Switch to the Tasks View and go to the Started tasks list.
Processing and managing Therefore™ Tasks
-
To access tasks assigned to the current user in the Therefore™ Navigator switch to the Tasks view. Here, three task lists are available:
-
To do: a list of tasks assigned to the current user
-
Done: a list of tasks completed by the current user
-
Started: a list of tasks created by the current user
Double-clicking on any of these lists creates a hit-list of available tasks.
-
-
To open a task, double-click on it. When a task is completed, the next task assigned to the current user is automatically displayed. It is also possible to manually navigate through the to do list by clicking on the Previous or Next Task buttons.
