Performing a full-text search
-
Go to the Home tab of the ribbon menu and key in the search string into the bar labeled 'Quick Search'. Check Document Content to search in the contents of the files contained in a document, and Index Data to search in the document index data. By default, all full-text enabled categories are searched.
-
To search in specific categories or to configure advanced settings, click Advanced Search. Here, it is possible to configure many different settings which make searching more precise.
-
A hit-list of matching documents will then be displayed. Click on a document to open it.
Performing an index data search
-
Double-click a category under the repository to open the search dialog.
-
Specify the search criteria. If a field is highlighted, it means that it is mandatory and must have been filled in when the document was saved.
Clicking on the operator icon opens a list of operators that can be used to refine a search. Click 'Find' to start the search.
Cases can be searched in the same way.
Performing a combined index data and full-text search
On full-text enabled categories, it's possible to search for text strings alongside index data. The search works in two steps: first, the index data search is performed. Then, a full-text search for the string is performed on the search results.
To perform this type of search, open an index data search dialog. Click 'Options' and select 'Enable Full-Text Search'. A search bar for entering the search string is displayed.
