Cross Category Searching by Index Data
To perform a cross category search, an administrator must first configure a cross category search template in the Therefore™ Solution Designer.
Searching across categories

Select New Search in the Home tab of the ribbon menu and then 'New Cross Category Search'.

The Search Template Selection dialog opens. A list of available templates is displayed. Select the relevant template and then click OK. The template dialog will open.

Click on Options and choose 'Select Categories'. Add the categories that should be searched. When finished click OK.

The chosen categories will now appear on the template as tabs. Choose the first one and then right-click on the index field that will be used to cross reference the categories. From the context menu chose the matching variable. Do the same for the other categories. To run the search, click on 'Find'.
Note: A variable is preceded by a $ symbol.

Click on the floppy disc icon and chose to save the search it as either personal or global. Specify a location and name for the new search.

To use the cross category search once it has been saved, go to the Repository pane and click on the folder where it was saved. If it was saved it in the root folder click on the Repository icon. The saved cross category search will be listed under Saved Searches. Double-click it to start the search.
