Annotate

The Annotate tab contains the ribbon menu associated with adding notes and other details to TIFF or PDF files in the Therefore™ Viewer. The ribbon menu can be customized. It includes the following options by default:

It is possible to add notes and other details to TIFF or PDF files using the annotations tools. Note that the Annotate tab is not visible when the file is not in the TIFF or PDF format.

Common Ribbon Menu Items

Add/Edit

Zoom To Icon

Text

Opens a text box where text can be added to the page.

Original Size Icon

Pencil

A free-hand line can be drawn.

Fit to Window Icon

Highlight

Highlight a selected area.

Fit to Width Icon

Rectangle

A rectangle can be drawn. The border and fill can be changed via the item's properties.

 

Ellipse

An empty ellipse can be drawn. Drag direction defines major/minor axis aspect ratio. Dragging at 45 degrees defines a circle. The border and fill can be changed via the item's properties.

 

Stamp

Adds a stamp image to the page. Files must be in bitmap format.

View/Hide

 

Select

When set, the left mouse button may be used to select an existing annotation which can then be moved, re-sized or deleted as required. The right mouse button can be used to open the annotation properties.

 

View Annotations
When set, page annotations are displayed and the annotation toolbar icons are available for use. When de-selected, page annotation display is suppressed and all tool icons are grayed out.

PDF Specific Ribbon Menu Items

Text

Callout
Opens a text box with a movable pointer where text can be added to the page.

Highlight

Underline
Underlines the selected text.

Strikethrough
Puts a line through the selected text.

Insert Text
Click on a text location to add to a marker where new text can be added in a pop-up dialog.

Replace Text
Puts a line through the selected text and opens a pop-up dialog where new text can be added.

Pencil

Eraser
Lines drawn using the pencil can be erased.

Sticky Note
Adds a note marker to a page. Text can be added in a pop-up dialog.

Rectangle

Line
A line can be drawn.

Polyline
Multiple connected lines can be drawn. Click to start drawing, drag the line, and click to add another point. Double-click to stop drawing.

Polygon
A polygon can be drawn. Click to start drawing, drag the shape, and click to add another point. Double-click to stop drawing.

Stamp

Custom Stamp
Opens a browser dialog for selecting a .png or .pdf to use as a stamp.

Sign

Adds a digital signature to the file.

Settings
Opens the 'Setup of Digital Signature' dialog.

Using the options listed under 'Text Generated in Visual Signature' users can configure the visual component of the digital signature.

Show username
Show the username of the Therefore™ user that is currently logged into the Therefore™ Viewer as part of the digital signature. The signature can be styled by changing font size and font color.

Show date and time
Show the date and time the document was signed at as part of the digital signature.

Font size
Change the font size of the text shown as part of the digital signature.

Font color
Change the font color of the text shown as part of the digital signature.

Signature Image
Add a 24 bit bitmap image to be displayed as part of the signature.

Use only digital signature (invisible)
If this box is checked, the digital signature is generated without a visual component.

TIFF Specific Ribbon Menu Items

Arrow
Draw an arrow.

Text Popup

Adds a note marker to the page. Text can be added in a pop-up dialog.
