License

The number of users and the functionality of your system will depend on the licenses purchased. The Solution Designer lets you view the current license configuration. This information includes the Customer ID number, License Number, and the Product Name. The License window also lets you import a new license. For example, if your original system did not have a license point for the Therefore™ Connector for Microsoft Exchange, you could purchase and upgrade your license to enable this functionality. No new software needs to be installed.

License Details

Customer ID
Unique identification number assigned to this specific Therefore™ system.

Customer Name
The name of the customer.

License Number
An alphanumeric text string that uniquely identifies the license number assigned to the Therefore™ product.

Product Name
The Therefore™ product edition. It is possible to easily upgrade to a Therefore™ Edition with more functionality.

Maintenance Until
Date that the current License expires. After the license expires, further maintenance of your system will be prevented, and no software support will be provided. Administrators are always able to run the Therefore™ Solution Designer application and import a replacement license, however some restrictions apply depending on the license type:

• Trial license: User log-in is denied. It is not possible to re-install the system, or to add new users. The only action that is supported is the import of a replacement license.

• Full license: Existing users may continue to use the system, and the Administrator can modify system settings, however it is not possible to upgrade the system to a new version.

License Point
The name and number of license points are listed.

Import License (button)
Therefore™ license files can be imported to extend the maintenance period, or add new features and functionality. The imported XML file will be provided by Therefore™ Customer Service.

Update License (button)
Retrieve license information from the Therefore™ License server. Assumes a customer account is present on the Therefore™ License server.

Customer Information

This tab contains name and address information related to the customer's profile on Therefore™. Additionally, it contains the name and contact details of the system's administrator.

Named Users

This tab displays the list of named users with license points reserved for them.

Add
User license points can be assigned to specific users, and in addition be given permission to take documents offline. Generally these should be Therefore™ Named User licenses since they will be permanently tied to a specific user.

Remove
License point reservations can be removed.

Read-only Users

This tab allows administrators to specify which users will use read-only license points.

Add
Add a users to the pool of read-only users.

Remove
Users can be removed from the read-only pool.

Distribute License Points

This tab is only visible for Therefore™ installations with multiple server licenses.

Choose a Server
All available servers are listed in the drop-down box. Assigned and remaining licenses are listed below, and can be edited as required.
