Appending Files to an Existing Document
New files can be appended automatically using the auto-append feature which can be configured using the Therefore™ Solution Designer.
If a new document is saved with the same unique document ID, then it will not be saved as a new document, but instead it will be appended to the existing document. In such a case, Therefore™ will automatically populate all other fields with the data from the existing document. In addition, an auto-append tool bar will appear at the bottom of the dialog. The user can then:
-
Select how the document should be appended.
-
View the existing document.
-
Undo the auto-append if they mistyped the index data.
The same result can be achieved by dragging and dropping a document onto another document in the hit-list of the Therefore™ Navigator or Therefore™ Case Manager.
Adding Files to Documents in the hit-list
-
Navigate to the required files using Windows Explorer. Drag and drop these files onto a document in the hit-list.
-
This will cause a dialog to appear. Select how the files should be added to the document: at the end of the document, in the beginning of the document, or replacing all other files in the document. Check the 'Open in Viewer' box to view the document in the Therefore™ Viewer before checking it in.
