Integration with Kofax Power PDF Advanced

Saving documents to Therefore™

  1. To save the currently opened PDF, select Connections in the ribbon menu, click on Therefore™ and choose the option Save to Therefore™.

  2. A dialog will open where the user can select which Therefore™ to save the document to.

  3. After selecting, the category's index data dialog will appear. After the index data has been filled out, click 'Save' to save the document to Therefore™.

Finding and editing documents in Therefore™

  1. To find a document saved in Therefore™, click on Connections in the ribbon menu. Then click on Therefore™ and choose the option Open from Therefore™.

  2. A dialog will open where the user can browse documents from. Index data searches can be performed as in the category view of the Therefore™ Navigator.

  3. If Therefore™ Tree View has been defined, documents may also be found this way. Checking the 'Show document parts' check box will allow users to see the individual files within a document.

  4. A full-text search can also be performed by entering the search string and clicking the search icon in the top right corner of the dialog. Under the settings icon users can specify if both document content and index data should be included in the search.

  5. Double clicking on the Therefore™ document, or one of the files in the document will open it in Kofax Power PDF Advanced.

    Any non-PDF files will be converted into a PDF before opening.

  6. If the user has permissions to edit the document, it will be opened and automatically checked out. If the document is made up of multiple files, then it will not be opened in Kofax Power PDF Advanced, but rather in the Therefore™ Viewer. Once the required changes have been made in Kofax Power PDF Advanced, click on 'Save to Therefore™' in the Therefore™ section of the Connections drop-down menu. This will check the document back in to Therefore™ as a new version. If configured, check-in comments will be required before saving.

Additionally, users have access to the following features with this integration:

Save As to Therefore™
This allows the user to save the currently opened PDF document as an entirely new Therefore™ document.

Insert from Therefore™
This allows the user to insert a Therefore™ document into the currently opened PDF document. Either a whole document or an individual file within the document may be selected. Files will be converted into PDF before being inserted.

Extract to Therefore™
This allows the user to save a page range from the currently opened PDF document as a new document in Therefore™.

Attach a File from Therefore™
This allows the user to attach a Therefore™ document into the currently opened PDF document. Either a whole document or an individual file within the document may be selected. Files will be attached in their original formats.

Therefore™ Document Properties
This will display the document's index data, which cannot be edited in this window.
