  • It is highly recommended to check the database provider's client licensing requirements. Some database providers may require all users accessing information from the database (e.g., from Therefore™ clients) to have a valid user license.

  • Multi-server systems: all servers must be on the same major Therefore™ version.

  • For thumbnail previews of videos, Windows Media Player and all required codecs must be installed. In addition the video extensions must be listed in the Media Extensions list in Therefore™ Solution Designer advanced settings.

  • For Oracle: a native database client communication software must be installed and configured.

  • For Oracle: When Unicode characters that are not in the database character set are used in Therefore™ system settings, these will not be saved properly. If UTF-8 is used this problem will not occur.

  • Certain prerequisites, for example Microsoft .NET, are installed automatically if the Therefore™ Setup finds these missing before installation.

  • Where version numbers are not stated, Therefore™ will support all versions that are supported by the vendor of the SQL Server / browser.

  • All administrative applications (Therefore™ Solution Designer, Therefore™ Console) must be at least in-line with the current version of Therefore™ Online.

  • All inline powershell scripts are signed, so the setup can be installed on a PC with high security settings.

  • Therefore™ Capture Client engine requires an ISIS driver, or VirtualReScan V.5+.

  • Therefore™ Viewer requires a scanner with TWAIN support.

  • For embedded playback of videos, Windows Media Player and all required codecs must be installed. In addition the video extensions must be listed in the Media Extensions list in Therefore™ Solution Designer advanced settings.

  • Connection to the Therefore™ server must be available via a LAN or WAN connection.

  • Minimum Therefore™ Client: 2021. Older clients are not allowed to connect.

  • Minimum Administrative Client: 2023. This is the minimum version of a client that can connect to a Therefore™ server while using administrative applications, such as the Therefore™ Solution Designer or Therefore™ Console.

3rd Party Application Windows applications using standard Windows controls are supported, but each application has to be checked for compatibility to definitely know whether it works with the Universal Connector or not. Permissions Logging onto the Therefore™ Server and configuring a profile requires administrator rights on the Therefore™ system.

Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services

  • SQL Server Reporting Services are provided by Therefore.

  • In order to edit reports, an .rdl editor must be installed. We recommend downloading the free Microsoft SQL Report Builder compatible with your database version. The latest version of the report builder is recommended.

  • For report subscriptions, a Windows user account with at least Read permissions on the Therefore™ database must be configured. Also, the reporting services must be configured:

Microsoft Exchange versions

  • Microsoft Exchange, IMAP or POP3 email account.

Integration with Microsoft Office

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project are supported with Microsoft Office 2016, 2019, 2021, and Office 365.

    The new Outlook for Windows app is currently not supported by the Therefore™ Integration with Microsoft Office

  • Open from Therefore™ does not apply to integration with Outlook.

Integration with eSignature providers

  • Integration with various eSignature providers is provided by Therefore.

  • For manually passing documents to an eSignature provider using the Therefore™ Viewer, an account with that eSignature provider is required.

  • For automatically passing documents to an eSignature provider using the Therefore™ Workflow an account with that eSignature provider and a Therefore™ edition including workflow are required.

  • Both the Therefore™ and the eSignature service need to be installed. The Therefore™ Web API can be downloaded from the Therefore™ Extranet.

  • An SSL certificate is only needed for HTTPs. Self-sign certificates are supported.

  • Using HTTPs is recommended.

Integration with cloud storage providers

  • Support cloud storage providers: Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box.

  • Therefore™ Content Connector is required for downloading documents from cloud storage to Therefore™.

  • Therefore™ Workflow is required for automatically exporting documents to cloud storage.

Virtualization

Therefore™ can be used in any virtualization environment that meets the Therefore™ system requirements.

Citrix environment

  • Therefore™ Server must be installed outside of the Citrix environment.

  • Only the Therefore™ Client software can be installed on the Citrix environment.

Tungsten Power PDF

  • Tungsten Power PDF Advanced version 5.1 and above.
