Embedding XML into a Document

By using the 'Embed Index Data' task it is possible for users to embed a template-based XML into a document.

1. Add the 'Embed Index Data' task to a workflow and in the 'PDF Conversion Options' tab of the configuration dialog, select the format for the PDF conversion (PDF or PDF/A-3b for example).
   

2. Create the XML with the index data based on the given XML-template, and insert the XML into the PDF/A-3b file created in the previous step. This can include additional inserts from Factur-x or ZUGFeRD specific information into the PDF (via the 'Index data' table field).
   

3. After every setting is configured and the task is fulfilled through the workflow, the system will archive this PDF as a new document version.
