Activating Prefetching

This tutorial shows how to prefetch documents from the primary storage on a second server to speed up access to these documents. For example, consider the two server scenario shown below. Financial documents from both servers are stored to primary storage on Server 1, but users on Server 2 should also have fast access to these documents. For this we can activate prefetching.  

Activating prefetching

1. Firstly, prefetching needs to be enabled in the migration schedule. Open the Storage settings and choose the Migrate Schedule tab. Open the Active profile.

2. Set Prefetch to 1 and then click OK.

3. Next open the Storage Policy for the documents which you would like to prefetch. Check Prefetch documents to local cache checkbox and then check THE Server 2 to prefetch documents from Server 1 to Server 2.
