QR Codes with Document Creation

QR codes and barcodes can not be modified directly by Therefore™. However, Therefore™ can modify "Custom Document Properties" and these can be used as values for the QR code or barcode. Custom Document Properties can be added to document creation templates used by the 'Add File to Document' and 'Create New Document' workflow tasks.

Document creation is similar for both the Add File to Document and Create New Document workflow tasks and only works with a PDF, a Microsoft Word template, or a Microsoft Excel template.

To generate a QR code the following steps are necessary:

  1. Preparing the template
    Prepare the template by creating a custom document property and by creating a QR code that displays the custom document property.

  2. Configuring a workflow
    Create a workflow that includes one of the document creation workflow tasks mentioned above.

Depending on the chosen template type, different field types are available to be filled with index data.
