Window Views

It is possible to monitor the status of a number of processes or activities via windows in the Console.  These Views can be displayed or hidden. To access them, click 'Windows' in the top menu.

Cascade

Each sub-window (Message Viewer, Volume Viewer etc.) is displayed one-offset-above-the-other. When in cascade view mode, the sub-window that is ‘checked’ will be displayed as the top most window.

Arrange Icons

If this menu-item is selected, and all windows have been minimized, they will be arranged into an orderly fashion.

Tile Windows
When selected, the windows will be resized and evenly tiled.

Message Viewer

A list of all the events occurring within the Therefore™ Document Management System is displayed. Event messages generated by the various Therefore™ components are used to maintain the 'audit trail' of user activity and document changes.

It provides the Therefore™ Administrator with a detailed view of all current activity in 'real time' - showing Date/Time, User identity, computer being used, operation performed, any error code and the name of the Therefore™ components being used. All the data displayed is 'logged' to a file. The log files are regularly archived by Therefore. The archive cycle can be controlled by the Administrator.

Active User

This facility is not available for Personal Edition installations and shows the user log-in name, the Computer name of the PC being used (by that user), the name of the Therefore™  application being used and the current activity of each user.

The status of the current activity and the time started is also shown.

A Therefore™  Administrator can use this information to determine if a user is 'active', and thus decide if a user's connection to the Therefore™  Server can be safely disconnected. This may be required, for example, if a user has forgotten to log out of the system at the end of the day, or if the Licensed User limit has been reached and a user with higher priority must be accommodated.

To minimize user disruption it is highly recommended that a user be contacted (eg. by instant message to their Workstation) and asked to exit all Therefore™  applications themselves, rather than the Administrator disconnecting the user at the Server.

Migrate View

This facility is not available for Personal Edition installations.

The state of migration operations is shown. The top pane displays pending migration jobs.  The name of the storage area and number of pending documents is displayed.  In addition the number of faulty documents is shown together with the free space and status is also listed. The lower pane displays the active or completed migrate operations.

The status bar shows the status of the migration process.

Statistics View

This provides a summary overview of events on a daily basis.

Each day the number of document retrievals and number of archived documents are counted, along with the number of documents that were copied for migration (and then deleted from the buffer). The number of documents removed from the server 'cache' on a daily basis is also displayed.

Therefore™ Content Connector View

This facility is available for installations with the Therefore™ Content Connector module. It displays the status of documents processed by the Therefore™ Content Connector Server service.

The Therefore™ Content Connector View provides the administrator with information on the state of processing of Therefore™ Content Connector files. Files that are ready for processing are listed in the Files to Process pane. The file name, file size, the profile linked to that file and the state of the documents are displayed.

In the Activity Log pane, the details of any file currently being processed is displayed. The file name, file size, the profile linked to that file, number of documents and the state of the documents are displayed. Additional information about the number of completed documents and the corresponding DocNumbers are also displayed.

Therefore™ Content Connector processing is controlled from the Therefore™ Content Connector Menu.
