Therefore™ On-Premises 2026 Release Notes

Therefore™ Core

  • Implemented functionality allowing users to configure System Variables for their Therefore™ system to be used in scripting, REST calls, and Workflow conditions

  • Implemented framework for receiving webhooks to Therefore™ allowing real-time integration with 3rd party systems

  • Created a central credentials store node in the Therefore™ Solution Designer to conveniently manage stored credentials.

    - Added a flag to mark credentials as exportable or non-exportable

    - Added the option for administrators to delete and replace credentials

  • Added support for certificate based authentication for OAuth client credentials flows and added the corresponding option to the credentials store

  • Added functionality to append new lines to existing CSV files to the Export to internal FTP option of the Export Document workflow task

  • Switched Therefore™ Anywhere from SQL Compact to SQL Express leading to Therefore™ clients no longer supporting SQL Compact. Instructions on how to upgrade existing offline databases can be found in the Upgrade section. Users can also start synchronization from scratch instead of migrating.

  • Added the option for administrators to clear user account lockouts by clearing the information type 'User-Group membership' from the Therefore™ Server using the Therefore™ Console

  • Remapped Therefore™ dialogs to open to the new Help site when F1 is pressed while in a dialog

  • Added functionality to persist information such as emails and display names from external user directories such as Microsoft EntraID

  • Enabled using Microsoft EntraID as an external user directory without granting the EntraID permission Application.Read.All

  • Added the ability for administrators to make filters for Reference Table lookup either mandatory or optional from the field properties of the primary field

  • Added a checkbox in the Therefore™ Solution Designer allowing administrators to require manual confirmation for 2FA email links

  • Blacklisted specific system tables. More information can be found in the Breaking Changes section

  • Minimized the need for manual adaptations in the configuration import process by introducing a new concept for referencing categories and workflow processes using a human readable ID, such as CtgryID, ProcessID, etc.

  • Integrated support for logging into Therefore™ with passkeys, supported on the installed Therefore™ clients, Therefore™ Web Client and Therefore™ Portal, and Therefore™ Go

  • Added functionality to the audit log for the Delete instance task to log the DocNo or CaseNo

Therefore™ Server

  • Added a regkey setting (ForceDCOMPackagePrivacy) to enforce encryption for DCOM in server applications

Therefore™ Solution Designer

  • Disabled the spell checker in the HTML Editor to improve the user experience in UI languages other than English

Therefore™ Clients

  • Added support for code flow using PKCE to replace implicit flows for connecting to Therefore™ clients using OIDC

  • Changed the behavior of the installed client to only show categories the user can interact with

Therefore™ Workflow

  • Included a setting allowing administrators to define if users can write and save Workflow and document level comments, or document level comments only

  • Added the new function GetDocumentText to get the raw text of documents to use as the payload in REST calls

  • Implemented functionality to read the header from a REST response. Headers are available in scripting using RESTCall.GetResponseHeader("header name").

  • Added functionality to the Call REST Service workflow task for downloading and saving files to the document the workflow is executed for

  • Implemented the following enhancements to Therefore™ workflow:

    - Enhanced the Wait task in Therefore™ workflows for small wait times (< 15 minutes). Instead of being processed the next time the Therefore™ server service is run these tasks are now processed immediately.

    - Enhanced the Export Document workflow task to include the option 'Export to internal FTP' so Therefore™ Online users can profit from stable export to their internal FTP folder

    - Gave power users the ability to delegate instances to other users. On the permission level, this means that users with both 'View all instances' and 'Delegate instances' permissions are now able to delegate workflow instances for other users.

  • Enhancements to OneDrive integration:

    - Added the option to connect to OneDrive using one's own EntraID application

    - Added the option to share files to be edited in OneDrive with a link restricted to the current user or organization

Therefore™ Viewer

  • Added the option to use ISIS scanning after activation via REGKEY

Therefore™ Content Connector

  • Improved behavior of the Therefore™ Content Connector to only disable the affected source if both processing and copying to Faulty failed

    - Added the option for administrators to be informed of the above Therefore™ Content Connector error by adding them to the list under the Advanced Setting 'License Notifications Email Recipients'

    - Added an option for administrators to receive an email notification if a source has been stopped or could not be started

Therefore™ Smart Capture

  • Added an option to define the locale - regional information such as the default date format - for each Smart Capture queue in the Therefore™ Solution Designer

  • Allowed an additional field to be shown in data matching results so users can confirm the results more easily

  • Enhanced the Upload To Smart Capture workflow task by adding separate icons for extractors and classifiers

  • Reconfigured the settings 'Maximum number of pages processed per document' in the data extractor and 'Pages used for classification' in the classifier to also limit the number of pages uploaded to the Therefore™ Smart Capture service. This enhancement avoids processing issues in regards to long documents.

Therefore™ Web Client

Added the following functionality and new options to the Therefore™ Web Client:

  • Download dialog enhancement to support configuring default file formats and allow file selection

  • WCAG compliance updates:

    - Responsive Modals

    - Responsive Navigation Bar

  • Move documents to another category, both manually and via workflow

  • Delete and edit tasks from the task view page

  • Added functionality to add and edit PDF annotations and improved performance for PDF viewing

  • Direct URL actions: Added functionality to execute a query and show the workflow hit-list

  • Enhanced expanded table field in index data dialog to make more actions available:

    - Improved display of tables

    - Bulk selection for tables

    - Change order of table rows with drag & drop

  • UI updates:

    - Improved UI for document view by saving space at the top to see more file content and index data

    - Merged breadcrumbs and navigation bar

    - Added functionality to save the most frequently used index data field as default

  • Added background colors for index data fields, including conditional formatting

  • Added improvements to file viewing, such as rotating files

  • Added the option to show index data fields in a new tab

  • Introduced enhancements to the advanced search

    - Empty/ not empty operator

    - Using table columns as conditions

  • Implemented Auto-Append feature including modes and saving options

  • Added responsive floating navigation components to improve file viewing

  • Implemented upgrades to graph and number dashboard tiles

    - Graph tiles: Added options to select item type - Documents, Workflows, or Tasks - and parameter selection for workflows

    - Number tiles: Added options to select item type - Documents, Workflows, or Tasks - and additional parameter selection based on item type

  • Added operator dropdown to the Advanced Search

Therefore™ Portal

  • Configured a new Therefore™ Portal in Preview Mode with view-only functionality. The existing Therefore™ Portal remains functional.

Therefore™ eForms

  • Added the option to perform a search across keywords in keyword dictionaries

  • Enabled renaming files automatically according to a template

  • Implemented option to set the sorting of values in the Select component

  • Added the option 'Custom' to the setting 'Compress size ratio' of the File component

  • Added translations for the date picker

  • Added the option to reference forms in URIs by Form ID as well as FormNo

Therefore™ Connectors

  • eInvoice Connector: Developed a web service hosted in Therefore™ Online for consistent processing of machine readable invoices such as ZUGFeRD, Facture X, and X-Rechnung *

  • Developed an integration with Microsoft Copilot for bringing knowledge from Therefore™ to Copilot via Microsoft Graph. The connector supports Therefore™ permissions.

Therefore™ eSignatures

  • Added a setting to deactivate template matching in DocuSign

  • Added a new eSignature provider: Tungsten SignDoc
